This GDPR Privacy Notice provides you with additional information relating to the processing of your personal data and how you may exercise your data protection rights. It should be read in conjunction with Abbott’s Privacy Policy.

Why does Abbott process your Personal Data?

Abbott processes your Personal Data for the purposes of processing your Research Funding request and any necessary sharing with regulatory authorities.

Who does Abbott share your Personal Data with?

Your Personal Data within this application will be hosted by a third party, Envision Pharma Group. Abbott Medical Devices and its related companies and companies working on their behalf may transfer such personal data to Abbott Medical Devices facilities, Abbott Medical Devices related companies, regulatory authorities, and any third-party vendors that may be utilized by regulatory authorities in other countries, including the United States.

Does Abbott transfer your Personal Data outside of the European Union (EU)?

Yes, your Personal Data will be transferred to the United States where this application is hosted.

How long does Abbott store your Personal Data for?

Abbott retains your Personal Data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected (for example, to provide you with a service you requested from Abbott). Alternatively, Abbott may retain Personal Data where we are required to do so under law or for our legitimate business purposes pursuant to our record retention policies.

What Abbott does to keep Personal Data secure?

It is Abbott’s practice to secure each web page that collects personal information; however, the confidentiality of personal information transmitted over the Internet cannot be guaranteed. We urge you to exercise caution when transmitting personal information over the Internet, especially personal information related to your health. Abbott cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not gain access to your personal information; therefore, when submitting personal information to our website, you must weigh both the benefits and the risks.

What rights do you have in relation to your Personal Data?

You may have the right to request access to your Personal Data, to have it rectified or erased, to object to its processing or to have access to it restricted. You may also have the right to have your Personal Data sent by us to another entity, or the right to not be subject to any decision that significantly affects you being taken solely by automated processing, including profiling.

We may ask you for additional information to confirm your identity and for security purposes, before responding to any request you submit.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint about how we process your Personal Data with the data protection supervisory authority in your country.

Where you have been asked to consent to the processing of your Personal Data, we will provide you with an opportunity to withdraw your consent. There may be several methods by which you can withdraw consent, such as by contacting us directly or by deleting an Abbott mobile app from your smartphone. In each case you will be given information about how to withdraw consent.

Any withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on your consent before the withdrawal. Please also note that where you withdraw consent, Abbott will only stop processing your Personal Data that relates to the withdrawal of consent.

Abbott may still need to process Personal Data where: (a) we are required to do so by law; (b) we have a legitimate business interest to do so, such as in connection with the sale or transfer of our product lines or divisions; (c) necessary to respond to authorized information requests from government authorities; (d) necessary to address national security situations; or (e) otherwise required by law to which we are subject.

Does Abbott process your Personal Data to make automated decisions about you?

No. Abbott does not use automated decision-making technology in conjunction with your Personal Data.

Do I have to provide my Personal Data to Abbott?

We cannot provide you with the Abbott service you have requested if you do not provide us with the Personal Data we have requested. Your provision of the requested Personal Data forms part of the contract between you and Abbott.
