Cellular Network Updates

What is Happening

Telephone companies are updating their cellular networks. As a result of cellular providers’ plans to shut down their 2G and 3G cellular networks, you must take certain steps to maintain connectivity with your device:

  • Merlin@home™ transmitter for remote monitoring of patients with implanted devices for cardiac rhythm management, such as pacemakers and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs)

What to Do

Merlin@home Transmitter

Cellular adapters that cannot connect to a 4G network need to be replaced.

We began shipping adapters which are compatible with 4G networks, in February 2019 (ZTE MF 833V) and August 2021 (JACS). If you have the ZTE MF833 or JACS adapters, no action is needed. Your adapter will continue to connect to 4G network towers and can continue to be used.

Older, Sierra Wireless 885/888, Option Velocity GI0461, Sierra Wireless 313U, ZTE MF190, and Huawei MS2131 adapters are not compatible with 4G networks and will need to be replaced.
