Ministry of Health and Social Protection - Minsalud
The Ministry is the principal entity in the health sector in Colombia. These are Minsalud main objectives:
- Elaborate, establish, conduct, coordinate, execute and evaluate public policies on private or public health and social welfare
- Participate in the elaboration of pension policies, periodic economic benefits and professional risks
- Guide, coordinate and evaluate the General Social Security System for Health and the General Professional Risks System, as well as define the necessary alignments related to the Social Protection information systems.
District Health Secretariat (ex: Bogotá – Cali)
These are entities that within their jurisdiction and competence, establish Policies, Objectives, Strategies, Plans, Programs and Projects that guide the resources and actions of the District Health System.
National Superintendence of Health - Supersalud
This Ministry of Health affiliate inspects, monitors and controls the General Social Security System for Health, ensuring service providing and user satisfaction.
Institute of Health Technology Evaluation - IETS
This is the Agency of Health Technology Evaluation of Colombia, a non-profit and public-private organization.
National Institute of Health - INS
National Institute of Health – INS – is a public health entity with technical-scientific purposes and national coverage, which contributes for health protection in Colombia by managing knowledge, tracking population health status and providing assets and services in the interest of the public health system.
Colombian Association of Integrative Medicine Companies - ACEMI
Colombian Association of Integrative Medicine Companies – ACEMI – is a guild-like and non-profit association which purpose is to represent their private Health Companies affiliates of different segments, such as Prepaid Medicine Companies, Contributory or Subsidized Regime Health Promotion Entities and Prepaid Ambulance Services. Among its affiliates are the most important Contributory Regime Health Promotion Entities.
Gestarsalud
Private non-profit organization interested in social assurance management within the Colombian general health system. Among its affiliates are the most important Subsidized Regime Health Promotion Entities.
Colombian Association of Hospitals and Clinics - ACHC
Colombian Association of Hospitals and Clinics is a guild-like and non-profit entity which purpose is to promote technical and administrative strengthening to all affiliated institutes throughout closure, information, communication, capacitation and representation management. Among its affiliates are over 300 health service providers.
Colombia National Association of Entrepreneurs – Medical Devices and Health Inputs Chamber (ANDI)
Colombia National Association of Entrepreneurs (ANDI) is a guild-like and non-profit organization with the purpose of propagating and promoting political, economic and social principles for a healthy and free enterprise system. A great percentage of Industrial, Financing, Agribusiness, Food, Trading and Service companies are affiliated to ANDI.
Colombia National Institute for Medicine and Food Surveillance (INVIMA)
INVIMA is the entity that monitors and controls the protection of individual and collective health, through the application of the health standards associated with the consumption and use of food, drugs, medical devices and other health surveillance products.
