QUICK AND EASY PATIENT MANAGEMENT

Merlin.net™ Patient Care Network (PCN) is a remote follow-up system that imports and manages cardiac information for your patients with Abbott implanted devices. The system allows you and clinicians to upload and manage patient device data by accessing a web interface using the Internet and a compatible browser.

Providing physicians and patients further confidence in our ongoing security control measures, we have received a Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II report that independently validates the multiple layers of internal security controls we have in place for the Merlin.net™ Patient Care Network to protect patient data.This report, prepared by a global auditing firm, concludes that the controls we have implemented were designed effectively and operate in accordance with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) trust service principles of Security, Availability and Confidentiality.

The SOC 2 report, along with our existing ISO 27001 certification, reinforces our leadership in cybersecurity and our commitment to patient safety.

DirectAlerts™ notification is a notification system that can be configured to provide you designated patient alerts between follow-ups.

  • The mobile DirectAlerts notification allows users to view alert-triggered electrograms (EGMs) and reports directly on a smartphone or mobile device.
  • The mobile DirectAlerts notifications are sent with a doctor’s individualized security stamp.
 
SEAMLESS INTEGRATION OF DATA

EHRDirect™ export allows automatic export of follow-up data from the Merlin.net PCN to a clinic’s electronic health record (EHR) system. This allows seamless integration of data so care teams can make informed clinical decisions more quickly, without the need for expensive intermediary systems. This feature meets the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) guidelines, supporting Health Level 7 (HL7) standards.

  • One-screen follow-up allows clinicians to view, print, schedule, export and archive from the “Recent Transmissions” page.
  • SmartSchedule™ calendar is an 18-month, rotating perpetual calendar that creates an automatic follow-up transmission schedule. Clinicians can specify length of time, including 31-day, 91-day and 182-day periods, between transmissions to coordinate follow-ups with the clinic’s reimbursement calendar.
  • DirectCall™ message is an integrated and automated patient communication system designed to save clinic time by reducing routine calls that medical office staff otherwise must perform.
  • DirectTrend™ viewer provides dynamic views of device and clinical trends for comprehensive patient management.
  • Merlin.net™ PCN was the first medical device network to be awarded ISO 27001 certification, a stringent worldwide information security standard.
  • Due to increased security requirements, two-factor authentication, two-step log-in scheme and Safe Harbor standards have been incorporated. At the current time, these are enabled together.
