Referral Course - Management of Advanced Heart Failure Patients through Timely Referral

Treatment options for patients with Advanced Heart Failure are limited and often come with poor outcomes. Several recent publications show that LVADs offer a viable therapy alternative for this group. However, it is important to know whether this is a good alternative for the patient being considered and, if so, what is the best time to implant the LVAD. This course will address these questions and provide a state-of-the-art overview of this growing therapy modality.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Benefit from a comprehensive understanding of LVAD therapy in general
  • Be up to date in their knowledge of state-of-the-art LVAD treatment and the present status of clinical data
  • Identify patients who are eligible for LVAD therapy
