This two and a half day program will focus on the management of the complex heart failure patient, in a setting other than an advanced heart failure clinic or program. This course will give the General Cardiologist or Non-Advanced Heart Failure Specialist a unique insight into the treatment of this difficult patient population, including both short term and long-term care options.

Understanding an electrocardiogram (EKG) is the cornerstone of knowledge in cardiology. This program, sponsored by Abbott, will examine a multitude of EKGs in order to identify arrhythmias and explore their different pathways of care. Knowing if a patient needs medication, an implantable device, or an ablation is critical for their optimal treatment and outcome. We will explore arrhythmias of various origins in the heart’s electrical system and address how to efficiently apply successful therapies.

This two-day program is designed specifically for PGY6 Cardiology Fellows who intend to begin an EP fellowship program and are looking for more hands-on training with Abbott products. Under the guidance of recognized experts in the field of EP, attendees will gain an overview of arrhythmia management tools, implantable devices and patient management strategies. Through use of simulation exercises, attendees will practice catheter manipulation and coronary sinus access, and gain a better visual understanding of the biophysics of ablation.
