Abbott held a comprehensive 1-day extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) therapy program in August of 2021. The following videos are recordings of the program sessions and are intended for heart failure clinicians and/or administrators—including nurse practitioners, ECMO coordinators, nurses, perfusionists and other providers interested in ECMO education.
This state-of-the-art program is designed to enhance participants’ knowledge on all aspects of ECMO, providing educational content for those new to acute circulatory support while also challenging experienced clinicians.
Gary Schwartz, MD, explores the benefits of a collaborative approach to extra-corporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR), highlighting improved outcomes through delivery standardization.
Faraz Masood, MD, explores how the identification of appropriate patients for advanced heart failure therapies such as acute circulatory support is critical in ensuring positive outcomes.
Christian Bermudez, MD, presents how ECMO is a vital option for critically ill patients, acting as a bridge to more advanced treatments, such as heart and/or lung transplantation.
